This video is part two in our series on our series exploring women’s representation in Mexico and Claudia Sheinbaum’s historic tenure as the first woman president of Mexico. Part one of this series was filmed shortly after President Sheinbaum was elected, back in July of last year. This conversation features:

  • Jennifer Piscopo, a professor of Politics and Gender at the Royal Holloway University in London, her research focuses on women’s representation in Latin America, including Mexico,
  • Georgina de la Fuente, a democratic and electoral governance specialist based in Mexico City
  • Courtney Lamendola, RepresentWomen’s Research Director
  • Fatma Tawfik, our International Research Manager

They’ll discuss President Sheinbaum’s time in office so far, the impact of Mexico’s 2019 parity-in-everything policies, and our latest country brief on North America. RepresentWomen’s research team published our sixth country brief exploring electoral systems in North America- specifically the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
