About RepresentWomen

Our Vision

At RepresentWomen, we imagine a healthy 21st-century democracy with gender-balanced representation in elected and appointed positions at every level of government. More women in elected and appointed positions at every level of government will strengthen our democracy by making it more representative, helping revive bipartisanship and collaboration, improving the deliberative process, encouraging a new style of leadership, and building greater trust in our elected bodies.

Our Approach

RepresentWomen advances women's representation by researching, understanding, and championing evidence-based solutions that break down structural barriers to women’s political leadership.

Our research, programmatic, and communications work is designed to equip key stakeholders – elected officials, coalition allies in the democracy reform & women’s representation movement, and women’s interest groups – with viable, scalable, and transformative solutions to build women’s political power.

Our goal is to equip these groups with the knowledge & tools needed to help power the movement for a stronger democracy, and educate them about the value of building women's leadership.

We engage changemakers on our data-backed policies and reforms, including ranked choice voting, proportional representation, international voting systems, and legislative modernization. We also support local, state, and federal efforts to educate voters, elected officials, and candidate training organizations with expert testimony, presentations, and events.

Our Research

Core to our organization is our ongoing research focused on solutions to break down the barriers that hinder women’s full representation in government. Examples of our research and analysis include:

RepresentWomen has built incredible research over the past few years, and is one of the few organizations centering gender and looking at what reforms mean for women...I would not have been able to make the case to advance this strategy or systemic reforms without relying on the work, the research, and the diligence of RepresentWomen.”

Our Programs

We convene women leaders with our key programs designed to educate and empower change-makers. We host an annual virtual Democracy Solutions Summit, connect the women’s representation and democracy reform movements with our Women’s Power Collaborative, and uplift women leading in these movements with our Women Experts in Democracy Directory.
