Evidence that RCV and PR elect more women, used with policymakers, the press, and the public.
FairVote · Murmuration · FairVote Minnesota
RepresentWomen connects the democracy reform movement and the women’s representation movement. We bring research, trusted messengers, and the women’s constituency to reform partners, and we bring reform to the organizations that recruit, train, and fund women candidates. Here’s what that partnership makes possible, in our partners’ own words.

“It would be impossible to support fairer elections without considering and uplifting the people who would benefit from these systems being fairer. RepresentWomen is the national organization for fair elections for women.”

From national reform leaders to state and local campaigns, here’s how our partners describe working with RepresentWomen.
“RepresentWomen is the national organization for fair elections for women.”
“FairVote utilizes RepresentWomen’s research and findings on a daily basis, and more importantly, looks to the organization and its leaders as a strategic partner in public education and advocacy for better elections. RepresentWomen’s domestic and international research informs our own research approaches and the way we engage with partners.
Women make up a majority of all voters in the United States and yet remain woefully underrepresented in city councils, state houses, and on the Hill. It would be impossible to support fairer elections without considering and uplifting the people who would benefit from these systems being fairer. RepresentWomen is the national organization for fair elections for women, and we are grateful for the organization’s leadership and impact.”
“There is no better messenger in that story than RepresentWomen.”
“RepresentWomen has been an incredibly valuable partner to FairVote and to the broader ranked choice voting movement. One of the most important things people should understand about RCV is that it can help elect more women and people of color, and there is no better messenger in that story than RepresentWomen.
Their research is excellent and gives the movement credible, substantive evidence we can use with policymakers, partners, the media, and the public. They also bring relationships and credibility that help us reach audiences we might not reach as effectively on our own.
Their support at the DNC in Austin was a great example of that, helping make the case for RCV in a setting where trusted voices and good evidence really matter. Whether they are supporting state and local organizations, engaging national leaders, or helping us communicate the broader benefits of RCV, Cynthia and her team consistently make our work stronger and more persuasive.”
“A critical national leader in the fight for representation.”
“RepresentWomen is an extraordinary partner to us and a critical national leader in the fight for representation. Their expertise, research, and leadership have proved time and time again to be invaluable resources for our team and network of state partners. Their commitment to advocating for election reforms that increase representative outcomes for women is tireless work that is essential to creating a democracy that gives all of us a seat at the table.”
“RepresentWomen is leading the movement to put these tools to work.”
“We have tools to achieve parity in office for women. RepresentWomen is leading the movement to put these tools to work, with a smart and comprehensive strategy that includes both systems change and candidate power. Their research and thought leadership has been invaluable for our work in Washington state as we create the democracy that women, and all voters, deserve.”
“They have helped us equip DC voters with the knowledge and confidence to rank their ballots.”
“RepresentWomen has been a trusted partner to Grow Democracy DC Civic Education Fund in our work to educate DC voters about RCV. Through additional educational materials and hands-on support at polling sites during the primary election, they have helped us equip DC voters with the knowledge and confidence to rank their ballots.”
“I think you planted seeds.”
“On behalf of the League of Women Voters of Oregon, I want to officially thank you for presenting at our Communications Café. The RepresentWomen information you shared is often surprising and interesting to us all. Your work is clearly of great concern to our members, and I believe you gave them a lot to consider. I was personally surprised (and grateful) for all the interest in RCV. I think you planted seeds.”
“They bring expertise, generosity, and a shared commitment to building a more representative democracy.”
“RepresentWomen is an invaluable partner in FairVote Minnesota’s work to advance RCV and PR. Their in-depth research on how these reforms benefit women and BIPOC communities strengthens our education and advocacy. From convening reform partners and presenting together at conferences to collaborating on fundraising, they bring expertise, generosity, and a shared commitment to building a more representative democracy.”
“A relentless focus on who gets to lead and what needs to change.”
“RepresentWomen brings something essential to the democracy field: a relentless focus on who gets to lead and what needs to change so leadership better reflects the people it serves. Our research partnership has benefited enormously from their expertise, curiosity, and commitment to putting evidence to work.”
“The movement for those changes would not be where it is without RepresentWomen.”
“I had always envisioned RepresentWomen duplicating what I had seen elsewhere: women becoming a core element of winning structural electoral reforms. RepresentWomen has surpassed all expectations. It is regularly in the room where it happens when advancing ranked choice voting and multimember districts. The movement for those changes would not be where it is without RepresentWomen.”
On the ground in Austin to help stop a proposed ban on RCV.
On every coalition call to keep PR moving in the Vermont Voting Rights Act.
Helping voters prepare to rank their ballots in the city’s first RCV election.
Teaching today’s and tomorrow’s voters how RCV and PRCV work.
We work with partners in both movements, bringing each what the other knows best.
We bring data and messaging
RepresentWomen works alongside the coalitions driving democracy reform on the ground, equipping them with the data and messaging that connect their policies to women’s lives. Since women make up half of every community our partners serve, aligning that constituency is often essential to passing reform, and it’s where we play our largest role. Our partners consistently point to this work as key to building the broad-based support their campaigns need — support that doesn’t just pass policy, but brings women’s political power along with it.
We bring research and tools
RepresentWomen works alongside the organizations recruiting, training, and funding women to run for office, equipping them with the research and tools that connect their work to the rules shaping who can win. Since even the strongest candidates run into a structural ceiling built into our elections and legislatures, changing those rules is often essential to lasting progress, and it’s where we play our largest role. Our partners consistently turn to this work to understand what holds women back and which reforms break through the ceiling — reforms that don’t just change policy, but make every investment in women candidates go further.
