Meet the Team: Rose

By RepresentWomen by on November 17, 2020

My name is Rose Teszler, I’m a rising Junior at Swarthmore College, and I was born and raised in the Boston area. From my underclassman years at Swarthmore, I have mostly learned that I have no idea what I want to do with my life. I count successfully evading the major declaration form as a significant achievement as I continue to deliberate on my love of STEM and my passion for Global Studies.

In spite of my personal indecisiveness, RepresentWomen appealed to me and my dual interests in local and global politics. In particular, I was drawn to the quest to find and promote best practices for all levels of politics. As a student government senator, I have seen first-hand how changing the structure and function of a political body can lead to more effective outcomes (and hours of discussing and voting on by-laws). I hope to use this knowledge to guide my research internship at RepresentWomen this fall.

In my “free-time” at Swarthmore, I run Cross Country and Track and Field, serve as Co-President of the student athlete advisory committee, and a sexual health advocate. And, during my real free-time, I like to read the newspaper front to back and watch (mostly British) television shows. Some of the favorite shows are The Crown, Game of Thrones, and Fleabag. Above all, however, I enjoy beating my three brothers in Mario Kart.
