Meet the Team: Cameryn

Hello! My name is Cameryn Chan and I am an Outreach Intern for Represent Women. I was born and raised in Southern California, but I plan exploring as much of the world as I can. As a Legal Studies and Politics double-major at UC Santa Cruz, I hope to enter law for my future career. But for now I am working from home and enjoying time with family during this pandemic.

Hello! My name is Cameryn Chan and I am an Outreach Intern at RepresentWomen for Spring 2021. As a Legal Studies and Politics double-major at UC Santa Cruz, I hope to enter law for my future career. But for now I am working from home and enjoying time with family during this pandemic.

I joined RepresentWomen for various reasons, the first being that I am a big fan of Ranked Choice Voting and Multi-Member Districts. I first learned RCV and MMDs during one of my university classes and was astounded by how a simple change in electoral structure could bring so much diversity and stability. The second reason is that I, like many others, would like to see diversity within our representative officials. The 2020 elections brought us many firsts, and I hope to see more in the future.

Aside from my political interests, here are some fun facts about me! I am a huge fan of animation and some of my favorite movies include How To Train Your Dragon (2010) and Promare (2019). I also like to collect graphic novels whenever I visit my local comic book store. Another important thing to know is that I’m a foodie. My bucket list in life is to try every dish at least once (and yes, I did grow up watching Andrew Zimmern’s Bizarre Food). That’s why I want to take the time to travel the world to see what I can or cannot stomach.
