Meet the Team: Andrea

By RepresentWomen by on November 17, 2020

My name is Andrea Esquetini and I am a senior at the University of California, Davis, where I am majoring in Communications and minoring in Political Science and Professional Writing. In college, I have spent much of my time writing for local papers and producing videos for campus departments. I love this kind of work, and in the future I hope to continue producing media that has an impact and tells stories that would otherwise go untold.

This fall, I will be working as a multimedia intern with Represent Women. As someone who has always been interested in government and politics, I am very excited to get started in this role.

When I was six, my family and I moved to Maryland from Ecuador. I think that growing up close to DC is what made me so interested in following news and politics. I always had a sense that I was lucky to be near the places where important decisions were being made, and I loved being in the know. I also became interested in photography and videography early on, so combining these interests has always been what I hoped to go into. I am looking forward to getting the chance to do this with Represent Women and to connecting with the DMV again!

When I’m not busy with work or schoolwork, I like to be active and be outside— everything from rock climbing, hiking and camping to running, swimming and biking. I also love listening to music, discovering new artists and making endless playlists.
