Maryama Thiam is a sophomore at Chesapeake Math and IT High School, where she maintains a 4.0 GPA. Since the 6th grade Maryama has known she wants to major in Law and International Affairs in college. Maryama is a hardworking and active student at her school. She currently serves as the Vice President of her class. She also plays softball for her school and participates in many clubs after school. At the age of fifteen, Maryama is already secretary of a non-profit organization that provides resources for mothers of Africa. Ever since a young age, Maryama has felt very strongly about the importance of more women of all racial backgrounds serving in elected office. As an intern at RepresentWomen, Maryama seeks to contribute her to skills to help ensure more women are represented in elected office.
