Kendrik Icenhour is a development and fundraising intern at Represent Women and FairVote. He grew up in Gastonia, North Carolina and is currently a senior at Duke University working towards a degree in Public Policy and minors in Political Science and Education. At Duke, Kendrik has served as a teaching assistant and as a research assistant on topics ranging from political ambition to higher education policy. Kendrik is writing his Honors thesis on how colleges and universities can and do create students who are civically engaged and oriented towards social impact and entrepreneurship.
Outside of Duke, Kendrik served as an organizing fellow for the NC Democratic Party and as a political and grassroots strategist with CommonCause NC and the Volcker Alliance for redistricting reform for NC. At RepresentWomen, he hopes to broaden his understanding of fair representation, how to make efforts to increase representation of underrepresented groups, and how to grow a nonprofit. When he’s not working, Kendrik enjoys listening to pop music (not your average Hot 100), long distance running, hiking, and cooking.
