Asel is a women's and civic engagement program officer at NDI-Kyrgyzstan, where she coordinates and implements activities to promote women's political participation and civic engagement through public dialogue, advocacy campaigns, and community-level organizing. This experience has deepened Asel's resolve to promote women's rights and contribute to increasing women's political participation in Kyrgyzstan.
This fall, Asel has joined the RepresentWomen team as a fellow through IREX's Community Solutions Program (CSP). Through this program, Asel hopes to learn more about evidence-based campaigning through research and develop media relations skills. Upon completing her fellowship, Asel hopes to promote cooperation between civil society stakeholders and decision-makers by training activists on evidence-based campaigning. Asel sees the fellowship at RepresentWomen as an opportunity to grow and become a leader who creates positive change in her community.
Asel graduated from American University in Central Asia with a degree in Business Administration before pursuing a Master's in Economic Governance and Development at OSCE Academy. In her free time, Asel likes watching Netflix, reading, going out with friends, and hiking.
