Alana Persson serves as RepresentWomen’s Communications Lead, overseeing the organization’s messaging, storytelling, media outreach, and digital engagement strategy. With more than a decade of experience in journalism, communications, and a narrative approach, Alana crafts compelling stories that strengthen RepresentWomen’s role as the leading voice for systems-level solutions to advance women’s political representation.
Before joining RepresentWomen, Alana worked in journalism, multimedia marketing, and nonprofit communications, developing a wide-ranging portfolio across audio, video, and longform storytelling. She later worked in the nonpartisan democracy reform space with partner organizations focused on electoral systems change, and also served as a policy writer for the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services. Her work is grounded in the belief that clear, accessible narratives can shift culture, deepen public understanding, and catalyze meaningful reform.
At RepresentWomen, Alana leads brand development, national press outreach, and strategic content for feature pieces, events, and report rollouts. She also supports executive communications and guides the organization’s growing digital footprint, ensuring that RepresentWomen’s research and solutions reach broader audiences with clarity and impact.
Alana collaborates with RepresentWomen as an independent consultant and is committed to elevating women’s leadership and to designing a more representative democracy.
